ETA-Electronic Travel Authorization is mandatory for citizens whose country is on the list of countries that do not require a regular visa.

In most cases, the electronic visa in Canada is issued within 30 minutes.

Without the registration number of an eTA visa it is not possible to board the flight.

In March 2016, the requirements of new entry to Canada have been changed : travelers who do not need a visa to Canada must obtain an electronic eTA (Electronic Travel Authorization). The exceptions are U.S. citizens and travelers with a valid Canadian visa. Canadian citizens, including those with dual citizenship, as well as residents of Canada with Permanent Resident status, do not have to apply for an ETA.
Most travelers need an entry document to visit Canada – either a visa or an eTA (Electronic Travel Authorization). It depends on your nationality or your situation.
